Classical Venous Surgery

In classical vein surgery, varicose veins are removed through small puncture incisions using special "hooks" (known as "phlebextractors"). This method effectively eliminates the varicose veins.

"Classical" vein surgery involves surgical procedures to remove diseased veins through open access.

This includes the removal of main veins via "stripping," where a plastic or metal probe is inserted into the vein, allowing for its removal by pulling through a small incision.

Smaller side branches are removed through "exeresis," in which the varicose vein under the skin is pulled out using specialized hooks through a small puncture incision.
